There are many myths and ideas wrong about online education until the past. Some people believe that online learning is a good choice only for students who have a good track record. Direct: This methodology is also known as synchronous learning mode. In this online education mode, there are instant communication between students and teachers and sometimes even among different students. Here all participants get access to information simultaneously. Virtual classes use video or audio conference facilities and real-time chat are some examples of this online education mode.

This learning methodology has its advantages and disadvantages. This mode is more similar to conventional education except the fact that students do not have to travel to the classroom. The biggest advantage of the synchronous method of online education is to allow instant feedback to student performance and enable active interaction between students and teachers. Thus students can get training and education tailored to their needs. In addition, direct education also facilitates community settings and study groups for better interactions among students.

This method has losses that students cannot plan their schedules and they are bound by predetermined schedules.

Asynchronous: Asynchronous mode online education popularized as a shop and advanced education. In this method, communication between students and teachers is not instant. Mandiri courses are examples of asynchronous online education where students communicate with teachers and among themselves by exchanging emails and posting messages on online bulletin boards and discussing the group. This is a more popular online education mode because it offers more convenience and flexibility to students and they can decide on steps and schedules for their education and training.

Apart from the advantages, this online education mode also has a loss. Students in this learning mode, lack of discipline and motivation and generally tend to develop a loyo attitude towards education.

Mixed modes of learning in online education combine the advantages of both modes and are a combination of private lectures or face-to-face interaction learning through online activities.
